SIGNALLING DESIGN SPECIALIST

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace.  We are currently seeking a qualified Signalling Design Specialist to work on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform technical/engineering tasks to define application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
  • Prepares specialized signaling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
    • Signaling Principles
    • Data Requirements
    • Block Design
    • Application database design
  • Prepares and supports customer requirements compliance assessment, and gap analysis.
  • Participate in system design work. This would include developing system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications and performing compliance assessments to customer requirements.
  • Interface and build strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issues and to ensure a good understanding of the Signaling Design.
  • Promote a safety culture where product safety is paramount.
  • Ensure that safety is built into the design by early identification and resolution of safety related defects.
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • 3+ years expertise in URS (Urban Rail Signaling) Systems or equivalent educational background
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under supervision to produce the required artifacts.
  • Has a technical curiosity to understand how systems work
  • Experience in using DOORS, Polarion, Melody advance, or other system design and requirement management tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices is an asset.
  • Experience in the development of databases used for software development is an asset.
  • Understanding of the use of tools to create/verify data for safety critical systems is an asset.
  • Rail Signaling knowledge is an asset.
