We are currently seeking a qualified Signalling Design Specialist towork on leading edge technology products. RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform technical/engineering tasks to define application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
Prepares specialized signaling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
Signaling Principles
Data Requirements
Block Design
Application database design
Prepares and supports customer requirements compliance assessment, and gap analysis.
Participate in system design work. This would include developing system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications and performing compliance assessments to customer requirements.
Interface and build strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issues and to ensure a good understanding of the Signaling Design.
Promote a safety culture where product safety is paramount.
Ensure that safety is built into the design by early identification and resolution of safety related defects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field
3+ years expertise in URS (Urban Rail Signaling) Systems or equivalent educational background
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work under supervision to produce the required artifacts.
Has a technical curiosity to understand how systems work
Experience in using DOORS, Polarion, Melody advance, or other system design and requirement management tools is an asset.
Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices is an asset.
Experience in the development of databases used for software development is an asset.
Understanding of the use of tools to create/verify data for safety critical systems is an asset.
