Aversan Inc. is a highly respected engineering firm known for its Systems Integration, Product Design/Development, and Software/Product Testing expertise in highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Digital Health, Medical Devices, Nuclear, and IT. We are actively seeking Electrical Technicians to support our client (Direct Hire) in delivering top-tier electrical assemblies.
Position Overview:
As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical assemblies to the highest industry standards, including IPC and military specifications. This role requires work in both lab and plant settings, utilizing a range of tools, fixtures, and testing equipment. You will need a strong foundation in electrical assembly, particularly in soldering, harness building, and enclosure assembly. Experience with testing and troubleshooting is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all work according to the Quality Management System (QMS) standards, ensuring strict adherence to IPC J-STD-001, IPC-620, and IPC-610 standards.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings and wiring schematics accurately.
- Follow and, when necessary, create detailed work instructions to guide complex assembly processes.
- Work safely and effectively with a wide variety of tools, materials, and coatings.
- Conduct soldering and assembly operations to IPC and military standards.
- Execute high-quality electrical/mechanical assembly work, including harness building and enclosure assembly.
- Troubleshoot electrical sub-assemblies, harnesses, and boards, identifying issues for resolution.
- Actively communicate and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines, especially when handling multiple tasks.
- Collaborate within the team to enhance operational efficiency and workplace safety, including adhering to Health & Safety guidelines and reporting any incidents promptly.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Hands-on Electrical Assembly Experience: 3+ years in electrical and mechanical assembly, particularly in soldering, harness building, and enclosure assembly.
- Certification: IPC Certification is essential; familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 standards.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Experience with electrical sub-assemblies, harnesses, and boards is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled with crimpers, wire strippers, mechanical hand tools, meters, and gauges.
- Drawings and Schematics: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics accurately.
- Problem Solving and Improvement: Proactively identify and suggest process improvements for new and existing assemblies.
- Safety and Quality Focused: Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment while delivering high-quality work.
- Education: Post-secondary certificate or diploma in an electrical field.
- Security Clearance: Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government security clearance.
