Odoo ERP Developer

We are seeking a qualified Odoo ERP Developer to join our team.  In this role you will design, build, and enhance Odoo ERP solution supporting engineering & electronics manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of electronics manufacturing workflows, system integrations, and scalable ERP architecture.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to customize Odoo modules, integrate external systems, and ensure reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions across complex, multi-company operations.

Responsibilities

 

• Design, develop, and customize Odoo modules with a focus on Manufacturing, Repair, Accounting, Timesheets, and HR functionalities.
• Configure and maintain BOMs, ECOs, routings, and shop floor workflows.
• Support and enhance MRP and MES-related processes.
• Develop and manage APIs and system integrations, including interfaces with test equipment.
• Implement data models and optimize PostgreSQL database performance.
• Ensure secure coding practices and data protection standards.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and well-documented system architectures.
• Support multi-company and multi-warehouse Odoo environments.
• Follow version control best practices, including branching strategies and code reviews.
• Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer where required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, QA & IT) to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Support testing activities, including UAT and post-deployment validation.

Basic Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Odoo development experience, including recent versions (v17,v19).
• Strong proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL, with experience in data modeling and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with the Odoo framework, including ORM, XML views, and QWeb templating.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain REST APIs and system integrations.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing ERP systems, including MRP and related shop floor workflows.
• Experience working in Linux environments with strong knowledge of Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable ERP architectures.
• Familiarity with multi-company and multi-warehouse ERP environments.
• Functional understanding of finance and accounting concepts within ERP systems
• Manufacturing, electronics, or aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Compensation: $80,000-$120,000 CAD

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
