Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HVAC and Plumbing Engineer interested in working on a diverse range of building configurations. This role involves performing all aspects of conventional design engineering, analysis, and studies for new and existing structures under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer Level 5, you will be responsible for engineering and designing HVAC and plumbing systems across various facilities.

The HVAC Team is engaged in the following activities:

  • Design and Construction Activities:

    • Project Delivery Methods: Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
    • Facility Types: Power generation buildings, substations, oil & gas structures, water treatment facilities, and energy storage buildings.
    • Systems: HVAC and plumbing.
    • Types of Areas:
      • Power generation halls
      • Administrative, warehouse, and maintenance spaces
      • Workshops, laboratories, and chemical storage areas
      • Electrical distribution centers, low & medium voltage switchgear
      • Pump areas, engine generator rooms, air compressors, wastewater treatment facilities, and flammable liquid storage areas
  • Studies:

    • Energy Audit/Efficiency: Conduct engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
    • Code Review/Application: Review facilities for code compliance.
    • Sustainable Design/LEED: Apply sustainable strategies, including achieving LEED certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication, listening skills, and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design principles and applicable standards, including:
    • International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes
    • ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards
    • ASPE Design Handbooks
    • SMACNA Standards
    • NFPA Standards
  • Proficiency in:
    • HVAC heat load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment sizing
    • Technical submittal and bid review processes
    • Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu
    • Revit 3D modeling
  • LEED AP certification with experience obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search as per applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications:

  • Professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country, or active pursuit of such registration, as required for the role.
