We are currently seeking a qualified System Design Specialist towork on leading edge technology products. RESPONSIBILITIES
Converts Customer (internal and/or external) requirements into conceptual designs and prepares associated documentation by performing operational analyses, simulations and technical trade-off studies evaluating alternative design configurations and functional features.
Prepares system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications by analysing, decomposing modelling and refining customer requirements and typical train control domain requirements.
Performs technical/engineering tasks to define system design, subsystem requirements, application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
Prepares specialised signalling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
Signalling Principles;Block design; Interlocking control tables; Safe braking model; Performance analysis and Headway simulations; Application database design.
Prepares specialised network design skills, covering one or more of the following:
Communication network requirements;Communication network design (both wired and wireless);Communication network configuration (both wired and wireless); Communication network analysis on various perspectives, such as reliability, security, scalability, maintainability etc.
Prepares and supports bids and proposals, including customer requirements compliance assessment, gap analysis, architecture design, simulation, trade-off of key features, estimation, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer) , Computer Science, or a closely related field
3+ years of experience.
Experience in using DOORS, Melody advance, etc.
Strong application (automated train control systems) domain knowledge & knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
Rail Signaling knowledge
System engineering expertise
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Any relevant experience in development of software-based System applications.
Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods and tools.
