Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable engineering company that provides expertise in systems integration, product design and development, and software and product testing for highly regulated industries, including aerospace, medical devices, IT, and engineering. We are currently seeking a qualified senior system designer to perform system design and analysis to specify communication-based train control systems. To develop and define system design features to meet end-customer requirements. Analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with system technical requirements, as well as to develop and define subsystem requirements.
The senior system designer is accountable for performing the design work correctly, within cost and schedule limits, as defined in approved work packages. The work is typically defined by the work package manager, then reviewed, modified, and changed with approval by the systems architect and/or manager. The system engineer typically works with a team of engineers to define what our client’s design team will be designing.
Job responsibilities:
Converts customer (internal and/or external) requirements into conceptual designs and prepares associated documentation by performing operational analyses, simulations, and technical trade-off studies evaluating alternation design configurations and functional features.
Similarly creates new concepts or modifies existing concepts to fulfil customer requirements.
Prepares system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications by analyzing decomposing modelling and refining customer requirements and typical train control domain requirements.
Prepares Operational Concept Document.
Performs technical/engineering tasks to define system design, subsystem requirements, application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
Prepares and supports bids and proposals, including customer requirements compliance assessment, gap analyze architecture design, simulation, trade-off of key features, estimation, etc.
Presents technical design and reports to customers and/or other engineering/management groups in clear, comp-concise and non-ambiguous terms.
Defines or proposes updates of processes and standards covering the work and its products of systems engineering and/or his technical specialty.
Operational design limits are evaluated and defined; performance analyses and simulations are developed & performed to support the above.
Interface and build strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analyze and resolution of in-house and field test issue.
(LR8 or LR9) leading technical discussions, technical solution presentation to internal and external stakeholders
Skills: MANAGEMENT
Supervises contractors and other systems specialists by defining their work and coaching them on how and what to
prepare, monitoring their progress, and directing them on priorities.
Proposes work package estimates and descriptions based on knowledge of the work and project requirement
Prepare and deliver regular status reports for internal and external stakeholders
Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
