Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently seeking a qualified Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. You will be working in the field of Avionics Box Design in the Robotics & Space Operations team

Responsibilities

 

• Prepare drawings and BOM for avionics chassis, circuit card assemblies (CCA), printed circuit boards (PCB) and cable harness designs for space and terrestrial applications
• Prepare Cable Assembly drawings using NX or AutoCAD as per MDA’s identified standards.
• Suggest new designs that meet the requirements and understand the client’s requirements
• Design cable mechanisms for rotary interfaces
• Perform cable routing and 3D modelling
• Integrate the designs taken from electrical engineering, materials, thermal and structural analysis in 3D models
• Perform design related activities for avionics chassis designs with considerations for EMI/EMC, thermal, structural and mass and volume constraints
• Develop production, assembly and parts list drawings
• Develop standard manuals, processes and templates
• Contribute to building internal CAD library of products, parts and extrusions

  Basic Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
• Strong experience in preparing drawings, cable assembly, cable harness, etc.
• Experience with any of AutoCAD Electrical, NX/Teamcenter, AutoCAD, MS Visio, Altium, OrCAD, etc.
