Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems Engineer

We are currently seeking a qualified Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, and/or coordinating the work needed for the definition, analysis, development and execution of the SAR payload designs, the preparations, implementation, verification and testing of such sub-systems.

Responsibilities

 
  • Define and maintain SAR antenna subsystem and payload requirements, including requirements traceability and management.
  • Lead or support the development of design architecture and subsystem performance budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure designs meet mission requirements.
  • Prepare and support design reviews, technical documentation, and engineering analyses.
  • Develop verification plans, test matrices, and detailed test requirements.
  • Create and maintain hardware tracking matrices for product development.
  • Develop test plans and support testing activities from planning through production.
  • Review system and unit-level test data, assess non-compliances, and support automated data analysis.
 

Basic Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with SAR and RF system design, including beamforming and antenna parameters.
  • Experience with system testing and radiated test facilities (e.g., Planar Near Field Range).
  • Knowledge of space or ground segment antenna design and integration methodologies.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Windchill, Jama) and modeling/simulation tools is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • French language proficiency required; English knowledge is an asset.
