Job Description: Key Accountabilities: TECHNICAL
● Converts Customer (internal and/or external) requirements into conceptual designs and prepares associated documentation by performing operational analyses, simulations and technical trade-off studies evaluating alternative design configurations and functional features.
● Similarly creates new concepts or modifies existing concepts to fulfil customer requirements.
● Prepares system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications by analysing, decomposing modelling and refining customer requirements and typical train control domain requirements.
● Prepares Operational Concept Document.
● Performs technical/engineering tasks to define system design, subsystem requirements, application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
● Prepares specialised signalling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
● Signalling Principles;
● Block design;
● Interlocking control tables;
● Safe braking model;
● Performance analysis and Headway simulations;
● Application database design;
● Prepares specialised network design skills, covering one or more of the following:
● Communication network requirements;
● Communication network design (both wired and wireless);
● Communication network configuration (both wired and wireless);
● Communication network analysis on various perspectives, such as reliability, security, scalability, maintainability etc.
● Troubleshooting various complex network issues;
● Evaluation of existing third-party communication network design and their interaction with CBTC communication network, such as development of interface definition, RF interference, security assessment etc.
● Prepares and supports bids and proposals, including customer requirements compliance assessment, gap analysis, architecture design, simulation, trade-off of key features, estimation, etc.
● Presents technical design and reports to customers and/or other engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms.
● Defines or proposes updates of processes and standards covering the work and its products based on the knowledge of systems engineering and/or his technical speciality.
● Operational design limits are evaluated and defined; performance analyses and simulations are developed & performed to support the above.
● Ensure the signalling design is implemented in accordance with applicable standards and signaling principles.
● Interface and build strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issue.
● (LR8 or LR9) leading technical discussions, technical solution presentation to internal and external stakeholders

Skillset:
Domain knowledge in Engineering system principles

DOORS, Polarian, Data analytics, Power Query, Power Bi, JIRA, Schedule Tools etc
