Principal Systems Engineer - ATE

Missisauga, Ontario


  • Works with engineering product and test teams to derive requirements for a Power Electronics and Avionics SIL Lab, with focus on Avionics test;
  • Creates specifications for the deliverable SIL products;
  • Participates in design reviews for the deliverable and SIL products and monitor/status their development progress;
  • Serves as a technical customer interface / lead for the system integration lab test and the deliverable SIL products;
  • Monitor standup of teammates and major SIL capabilities and development of integration test plans and procedures to ensure completeness;
  • Prepare materials for and participate in Test Readiness Reviews;
  • Occassional travel to customer sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ work experience in Test Set (Hardware/Software) development in an aerospace environment;
  • Experience developing, decomposing and allocating requirements;
  • Aircraft avionics software development or test experience;
  • Experience designing and developing avionics and software system integration test fixtures and debugging tools;
  • Experience developing automation tools for system integration test campaigns;
  • Experience with DO-330/DO-178 tool qualification;
  • Experience with Safety of Flight test campaigns;
  • Experience in the planning and conduct of avionics system integration facility test and verification;
  • Experience in the conduct of aircraft ground and flight test for integrating and verifying avionics system capabilities;
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to high level stakeholders;
  • Experience with FAA/EASA certification;
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management;
  • Proven track record of working with international partners and suppliers to develop and deliver program solutions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadership as part of an international team;
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally;
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills including briefings and presentations to senior leadership and customers.
