We are currently seeking a qualified IT ASSET ANALYST to work on leading-edge technology products. Location: Montreal, Quebec
Schedule: Remote; Flexible timings between 7am to 6pm
 
Description - As an IT Asset Management Analyst, your mission will be to be responsible for the proactive application of software asset governance, coordinating regular checks and monitoring reconciliation activities as well as software renewals. The focus will be on the asset management lifecycle and will also include maximizing the value of IT asset investments, analyzing software asset data, performing root cause analysis -compliance, the application of corrective measures and the identification and implementation of process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage software assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Monitor assets as well as coordinate internal controls and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Ensure effective governance to ensure compliance with asset management processes and procedures by the internal team and service partners.
  • Participate in the evaluation of products, service offerings and contracts and oversee daily interactions with suppliers to meet business needs.
  • Obtain information and clarification regarding licensing, product changes, costs and billing and communicate and facilitate such changes.
  • Ensure the updating of inventories and IT tools and the follow-up of orders for internal and external invoicing purposes.
  • Ensure the general monitoring of rights and proofs of software licenses, based on software orders. Perform the necessary activities for cleaning, continuously updating and decommissioning inventory data.
  • Actively participate in the creation and optimization of standard operating procedures, processes, guidelines and documentation for all asset management processes.
  • Offer support and expertise while working closely with members of internal and external teams on associated project work.
  • Develop analytics and dashboards to automate asset tracking and regular reporting activities.
  • Oversee management of licensing and security standards reporting.
  • Administer asset and procurement management for all IT software and hardware.
  • Work with Global IT Service managers to ensure vendor records are kept up to date and software license information is well managed.
  • Communicate to management the status of incidents, trends and performance related to service levels.
  • Verify, track, reconcile financial data (eg, budget and assets - leased, impaired, disposed of or recorded) to ensure the quality of the information, process and system.
  • Communicate and provide solutions to ensure software compliance and asset optimization across facilities globally.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in end-user software asset management, or IT / Cloud infrastructure or equivalent experience.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of software licensing from major vendors; Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMware etc.
  • Experience working with users from a customer service perspective.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented approach and strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to do several things at the same time and to work in a very dynamic environment.
  • Experience in configuring the SAM tool,
  • Certification in asset management, an asset.
  • Product management experience from these software vendors: Red Hat, Cisco and IBM (an asset).
  • Excellent reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software as well as telecommunications and networks; understanding of ITIL processes.
  • Solid knowledge of the principles, methods and procedures related to the management of IT assets.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement utilities, policies and processes.
  • Good knowledge of terminology related to computer hardware and software as well as peripherals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers as well as with suppliers.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of BCM /Service Now ITSM tool
