Project Engineer

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable engineering company that provides engineering expertise in the aerospace and defense industries. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our client located in Port Elgin, ON
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • The Project Engineer will provide scheduling, administrative, and technical support to the project team(s) in order to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • The Project Engineer job responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Technical: Recognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issue prior to releasing drawings to field
  • Works alongside PM's as technical support for their assigned series, providing support in customer communications and needs
  • Perform risk assessments and support the job hazard analysis process and actively participate in and support HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary project design deliverables and participate in quality reviews
  • Schedules resources for their portion of a project under the guidance of a Supervisor or Manager
  • Ensure work quality, safety and reliability standards are met and maintained
Project Execution:
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Occasional shift work and overtime hours, including weekend and backshift coverage may be required
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met.
  • Notify the appropriate contacts if milestones are not met.
  • Adhere to all program Operating and Implementing Policies
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance and client site Conduct Code
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Has successfully completed a University Degree or College Diploma Education in Engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, MS office-based software. Primavera scheduling experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD required
  • Experience working on-site at a Nuclear facility, ideally within MCR
  • Knowledge of ECC process an asset
Experience:
  • Experience in a technical environment on large-scale engineering and construction projects, nuclear required
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Firm understanding of core engineering principles, documentation, and processes
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal professionally and courteously with internal and external clients.
  • Scheduling knowledge an asset.
