Mechanical Design Engineer

Introduction:

As a Senior-level Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take charge of designing cutting-edge products that meet evolving customer demands, ensure high quality, and foster new product development from concept to execution. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving product improvement and influencing the future trajectory of our engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced engineering knowledge, alongside company standards and tools, to ensure compliance and successful completion of various projects.
- Provide engineering support for design projects, including board or component level thermal and structural analysis.
- Employ CAD systems to create new designs, detailed engineering drawings, material part specifications, and bills of materials.
- Lead mechanical peer reviews and actively participate in customer reviews, representing the mechanical team and its capabilities.
- Engage regularly with suppliers and manufacturing engineering to enhance product manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Participate in and occasionally lead productivity improvement initiatives.
- Interact with external customers to ensure product designs meet specifications and customer expectations.
- Help develop and define internal engineering processes and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in thermal/structural analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics packaging or enclosure design.
- Proficiency with CREO/ProEngineer for a minimum of 2 years.
- Established background in manufacturing techniques over at least 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM and DFA).
- Strong industrial design capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage projects.
- Keenness to learn new technologies and engage in hands-on work.
- Previous experience in product development or sustaining engineering within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
- Solid understanding of the mechanical industry landscape.
