Intermediate Designer - Hardware Application Design

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.comis a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration and Software Testing for industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Intermediate Designer - Hardware Application Design to work on leading-edge technology products. The successful candidate for this full-time position will be a part of a highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.
 
Location: Toronto, ON
Schedule: HYBRID (2 days a week in office)


Description
To provide support to the Site Infrastructure Designs (SID) HW team to help with SID hardware application design drafting and documentation.
 
Responsibilities.


1. MANAGEMENT
  • Be a good team player in a small team of designers (1 or 5 Designers).
  • Manage assigned tasks, schedule, and budget.
  • Keeping track of progress on all tasks assigned.
  • Ensuring that all tasks proceed according to schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all requirements.
  • Verify that all assigned work has been completed accurately and on time.

2. TECHNICAL
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and knowledge in the primary discipline in solving problems.
  • Able to follow instructions to carry out intermediate technical tasks and HW CAD for primarily electrical and some mechanical.
  • Understands and reviews the HW architectures.
  • Demonstrating a good level of logical reasoning resulting in effective hardware application designs, products, and processes.
  • Completes work in a timely manner and is confident to ask questions to help complete tasks quickly and correctly.
  • Selecting an appropriate design approach
  • Maximizing use of existing design.

3. COMMUNICATION
  • Articulates technical questions concisely so that it can be reviewed and approved by the management team.
  • Deals confidently, courteously, and correctly with both internal and external people at any level.
  • Promotes a harmonious working relationship among group members.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism in the job and in relations with others.

Basic Qualifications & Skills
  • A good level of knowledge related to electrical theory and systems along with a good understanding of CAD.
  • Post-secondary Technologist diploma or Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree
  • 1 – 2 years related work experience
  • Computer literate with knowledge of CAD tools (Microstation, AutoCad) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good interpersonal and technical writing skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the job and in relations with others.
  • Locating and researching source documentation for design activities.
  • Making timely decisions, both independently and in concert with others.
