Electrical Project Engineer

ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace.  We are currently seeking a qualified Electrical Project Engineer to work on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid)
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day execution of the multi-disciplinary project team, in support of the Program Manager, to meet technical, schedule requirements and budget constraints.
  • Apply and organize assigned resources to execute the work scope on Electrical, Optical, and/or Avionics work packages.
  • Ensure shortages or conflicts are identified to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure ongoing project team coordination and communication, especially across disciplines, to ensure full buy-in to project objectives.
  • Work to resolve any issues and ensure team buy-in.
  • Coordinate intra-project activities with key support resources, including Electrical Systems Lead, Technical Leads, Back End resources (e.g. Ops Coordinator, Shipping, Manufacturing, Buyers).
  • Electrical Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) coordination including generation of test plans and procedures, the coordination of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) design, procurement, assembly and test facilities, the timely release of documents and test implementation.
  • Identify and manage customer and program risks and opportunities including prioritization, mitigation, escalation, and resolution.
  • Track status of risks retired, risks realized, and project assumptions that no longer hold.
  • Support Program Manager to negotiate, discuss and reach agreement with the customer with respect to key requirements and objectives of the program, as well as the funding, resources and methods required.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, via Contracts and Buyers, to ensure non-labour is forecast, committed, and received to meet project timelines and cost objectives.
  • Support program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
  • Liaise with customer to maintain effective relationships, install and enhance the customer’s confidence in company’s quality systems and products.
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Systems Engineering, Physics/Applied Mathematics or Engineering Science is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Project Engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience in MS Project is required.
  • Candidates with experience in Electrical Engineering is an asset
  • PMI/PMP certification is an asset.
  • Experience in Electrical CAD tools such as ORCAD, Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, Matlab, and PSpice Simulators is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the space environment is an asset.
