We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Designer with a strong background in CREO and hardware design for optical or aerospace systems. This role supports the development of structural and alignment components for a Station that communicates with satellites via laser technology. The successful candidate will work closely with a cross-functional team of Optical, Thermal, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers to create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in PTC CREO, adhering to established standards.
  • Design precision-machined and assembled components for optical and aerospace applications.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into manufacturable solutions while considering machining limitations and tolerances.
  • Create and manage engineering drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure manufacturability, alignment, and performance of hardware designs.
  • Utilize Teamcenter to manage design files, BOMs, and revision control.
  • Support the engineering and manufacturing teams with technical drawing interpretation and updates.
  • Contribute to product design reviews and risk assessments.
 

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in Mechanical Design Drafting, with a strong focus in CREO.
  • Proven experience in designing hardware for optical systems or aerospace components.
  • Solid knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, manufacturing limitations, and acceptable tolerances.
  • Proficiency with Teamcenter for data and lifecycle management.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related discipline.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
