Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance Technician is to provide support to all day-to-day Facilities, HSE and Security activities to ensure they are carried out and delivered to maximize operational efficiency.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Lead and carry out the set up and tear down of all furniture reconfiguration requests, including event setups either directly or utilising 3rd party contractors
• Works with Facilities Manager to enhance space utilization by implementing floor & room designs, plans, equipment & installations as required either directly or utilising service providers
• Coordinate or perform minor and non-specialist repairs and maintenance tasks when needed to office equipment and within the leased premises, including but not limited to: painting, furniture assembly, basic door and locksmith repairs, light bulb replacement etc.
• Conduct regular site inspections for safety, maintenance, or repair issues and follow up on any issues with relevant persons
• Regularly monitor the Facilities team email mailbox/service request system and action requests within their activity scope independently from start to finish
• Leaf the delivery and execution of any Facilities-assigned work orders as assigned by the Facilities Manager
• Monitors stock levels and maintain inventory of facilities-related office supplies, paper, sanitizer, PPE etc. and alert Facilities Manager when replenishment is necessary
• Assist logistics and simulator lab staff with movement of specialist equipment around the building as directed. Coordinate all on-site and off-site storage, including storage-related enquires for various teams within the building
• Assist with disposal process of assets, including logging asset numbers for correct updating of the company CAPEX log
• Liaising and working closely with on-site cleaning crews, building security, and building operators/property management personnel ensuring tickets are completed on time and overall smooth running of corporate business activities
• Attending regular meetings with Facilities Manager where Facilities Management is a required participant
• Along with wider Facilities department, On-call 24/7 for all after-hours emergencies (black-outs, shutdowns, etc.)
• Occasional weekend or after-hours working may be required to deliver certain projects which may not be practical during regular working hours
• All other duties as reasonably directed by management
LEAD
• Provide competent direction and management of all third party vendor personnel working in the building in a Facilities capacity
• Coordinate and make direct arrangements to book third party labour provision to assist in delivery of projects, events etc. when necessary
• Work closely with building security and property management teams to ensure all issues, tickets, tasks etc. falling under their scope of work are completed satisfactorily
• Assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring that all Facility, HSE and Security Processes and Procedures are communicated, understood and adhered to
• Assist the Facilities Manager in Organizing/streamlining Facilities, HSE and Security activities to the overall operational and cost benefit of the company
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a customer service focus
• Familiar and competent with electronic devices and software, including company-issued smartphones and laptops
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook email, web browser applications
• Proven technical ability in using basic tools and equipment to perform repair and maintenance tasks
• Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and follow directions/instructions provided
• Must work well in a team environment or independently
• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
