Convert requirements for modules or small FPGAs into a hardware description document that describes in words and diagrams what the design will consist of
Support the definition of the corresponding ICDs
Write the VHDL code for the module or FPGA
Synthesize and place and route the design
For modules, define simple tests to verify coarsely the functionality
Provide lab support to board developers, test software developers and, when applicable, embedded software developers
Report progress and issues to their senior VHDL designer.
Required Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering (EE) or equivalent Bachelor’s degree
Strong experience designing FPGAs or ASICs
Knowledge of Synplify, Modelsim, Xilinx Vivado, Designer and Libero
Familiarity with the Unix/Linux environment and script languages (CShell, Tcl)
Exposure to automated verification techniques for test benches
At ease and efficient in a lab environment
Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to work well in a team
Ability to manage sub-ordinates
Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French
Knowledge of space radiation effects on electronic components
