Software Engineering Manager - CONDFIDENTIAL

*Embedded Software Engineering Manager
Our client a global Engineering company focused on Aerospace, Defense and Marine sectors is currently seeking a Manager of Software Engineering who will report to the Director of Engineering. He/She will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on leading the team of software engineers and being the software architect for product software design solutions within the cross- disciplined Engineering department of the company.

Responsibilities
Primary focus of managing the software development resources while acting as the software engineering design authority for all internally and externally developed software products.
• Mentor staff at all levels of experience and seniority to build a world class software team
• Act as the senior software architect for all product platforms
• Review and approve all product releases and product changes as the software design authority
• Define and maintain the software development and technology roadmaps for the department
• Define, monitor and control the capacity planning of the software department
• Assign and support resources allocated to internal and external software development projects
• Define, implement and maintain the software development processes
• Manage the assignment and resolution of all software support issue
• Support the development and finalization of estimates related to winning new business
• Perform yearly and semi-annual reviews and set department and resource objectives
• Manage department budgets and monitor resource overhead levels
• Participate in long term corporate planning for product development and
business objective execution


Qualifications

• 7-10 years of software development experience
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent software development projects
• 5+ years of managing software development resources and associated processes
• 5+ years of full product life-cycle management experience
• 5+ years of design for test and design for manufacturability experience
• 5+ years of developing embedded software products
• 5+ years working in continuous integration software development environments
• 5+ years of hosted, web applications (full stack)
• Airborne software (ARP4754, DO-178) or equivalent (automotive) design
experience
