Lead or contribute to the product level design, analysis, and verification activities of a Hardware Development team;
Perform trade studies in concept selection, product, architecture design and analysis;
Develop low level requirement documents and manage requirement changes using DOORS;
Work closely with other functional teams in implementing the design while ensuring process adherence;
Perform or coordinate development testing, documentation, resolution of technical problems;
Conduct technical presentations and participating in design reviews;
Provide support to manufacturing, investigate failures and identify root causes and permanent corrective action by working with internal and external customers;
Provide support to task planning, preparation of schedules and estimates, metric collection and program status;
Must be proactive and be able to work with limited direction, well organized, possess good communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to handle multiple tasks at any time through proper prioritization and schedule management.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
An Electrical Engineer with minimum of 3 years of experience in Analog, Power Supply and/or Digital circuit design;
Thorough knowledge of electrical design, build and support processes;
Strong working knowledge of electrical circuits, components and circuit analysis;
Experience with simulation/modeling using Mentor Graphics or similar CAE tools;
Familiarity with PSPICE;
Experience in building prototypes including procurement of materials and components, conducting product evaluation tests, analyzing product performance, development of custom testing methods and equipment set-ups;
Ability to work closely with other functional groups such as Project, Systems, Software, Mechanical and Test Engineering;
Experience in troubleshooting failures, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions using a methodical approach;
Ability to conduct technical presentations with internal/external customers;
Good leadership skills, goal planning skills, team player skills, and self starter;
Familiarity with DOORS is an asset;
Experience in aerospace electrical components design and integration is an asset;
Previous experience in leading teams is a definite asset;
Familiarity with Military and Aerospace Standards is an asset;
Good oral and written communication skills with employees at all levels.
