Job Description: Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer will be pivotal in leading investigations into failures of OEM, BTP, and R&O products. This role demands a deep understanding of electronic assemblies and a keen ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct root cause analyses at the component level for electronic assemblies.
  • Read and interpret complex analog and digital electronic circuit schematic diagrams.
  • Research product specifications and component maintenance manuals to understand product functionality deeply.
  • Identify potential design issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Document Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5Y, etc., and generate detailed reports.
  • Coordinate tasks with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, QA, Industrialization, and customers.
  • Schedule resources such as test benches and environmental chambers in collaboration with the Manufacturing Test Supervisor.
  • Prepare Rework Travellers and complete Non-Conformance Reports as necessary.
  • Analyze and report on failure trends in Manufacturing and R&O.
  • Participate in daily QRQC meetings, providing status updates and task completion timelines.
  • Ensure all work complies with internal and external requirements and standards.
  • Provide support and mentorship to Manufacturing Test Technicians in troubleshooting and failure analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, or an Electronics Technologist with extensive field experience.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing and Engineering principles.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
