About the Role:

You will be a key player in ensuring the effective and seamless operation of our engineering projects and daily operations at Aversan as a Proposal Engineer|Estimation Engineer. To streamline processes, manage resources, and support project execution, you will work closely with various departments, project managers, and outside stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop accurate and detailed estimates for engineering projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct cost analysis and cost breakdowns to identify cost drivers and areas for potential cost savings.
  • Utilize historical cost data and industry benchmarks to improve cost estimates.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals for engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and proposal Manager to ensure that the proposal aligns with the client's needs and expectations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project and incorporate risk contingencies into cost estimates.
  • Work with the project management and Engineering team to plan resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials, based on project requirements and budget.
  • Interface with clients to clarify project specifications and requirements and address any pricing-related questions or concerns.
  • Provide detailed explanations of cost estimates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand client needs and help tailor proposals to client expectations.
  • Work with the proposal team to ensure that technical and pricing aspects of proposals are aligned.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, cost benchmarks, and best practices in estimation and proposal engineering.
  • Continuously improve and refine estimation methodologies to enhance accuracy.
  • Work with Operations on applicable Engineering Grants application
  • Prepare grant proposals that effectively communicate the company's project ideas, goals, and funding needs to grant organizations.
  • Conduct research on grant eligibility criteria, guidelines, and application requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of grant application materials and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers and engineers, to gather the necessary technical information and insights for grant applications.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Project Management background and experience (PMP is nice to have)
  • Familiar with D0-178 and D0-254 pricing
  • Familiar with product development and SW V&V pricing
  • Familiar with Aerospace engineering industry and pricing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing skills
