Engineer (assuming ability to analyze and calculate: accuracy, deflection, moments, speed, force, safety…..etc.) and Design automated solutions using SolidWorks;
Equipment selection and sizing experience for : servo motors, pneumatic actuators and valves, gears, shafts, bearings (linear and rotary…),
Selection of different manufacturing processes and materials for machined components. Determining assembly and alignment requirements.
Apply engineering principles towards various system design and development;
Creating detailed mechanical drawings (as required) of parts and assemblies using ISO design/drafting standard
Provide support during the manufacturing, assembly, debugging, and integration phase as required
Prepare and present in design reviews to various stakeholders. Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devices with electrical design engineers. Review machine operations and machine sequences with controls engineers.
Project/task management, including documentation, quotes, cost, estimates, resource requirements, and effectively communicating them to the Lead Designer.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
A minimum of 5 years’ automation mechanical design experience -Life Sciences experience is an asset
Full working competency in SolidWorks 2018 (or higher)
Working knowledge of safety standards and safety risk assessment requirements
