Project Manager

Responsibilities

 
  • Manage projects for the development of courseware material for use in training student pilots in training centers;
  • Work with Instructional System Designers (ISD), courseware developers, multimedia developers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to design course and deploy material for Instructor Led Training (ILT) such as customer manuals, instructor guides, Review PowerPoints, Briefing PowerPoints, Performance Handouts, and exams and progress checks;
  • Interact with customers to interpret and react to the needs and expectations in order to develop effective training solutions;
  • Estimate and manage budgets for courseware development ($100K-$2M);
  • Take ownership of the entire project lifecycle from initiation, through planning, design, build, test, and implementation and closure;
  • Work with Program manager, team leads, subject-matter experts and customers to develop and deliver training programs globally;
  • Create project charter, schedule, risk, and other management plans, as needed;
  • Plan and define project role and responsibility needs, review and assign high level tasks, and communicate expectations for task completion;
  • Evaluate project change requests or any proposed change that impact the project;
  • Monitor and controls project schedule, cost, and quality;
  • Maintain and communicate project status reports, project plans, and issues;
  • Provide reporting throughout the project life cycle;
  • Manage a blended workforce organization including contractors and consultants.


Basic Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ project management experience (aviation is an asset);
  • Experience in working with Training and Development teams and delivering training products to global audiences;
  • Demonstrable experience of working and communicating with various levels, both within and outside the company, including senior management, technical staff, and end users;
  • Experience working with global and multi-cultural teams;
  • Experience managing consultants and suppliers;
  • Experience developing strong customer relationships and managing customer expectations;
  • Strong knowledge of planning software tools like MS Project or similar;
  • Strong analytical, facilitation and problem solving skills;
  • Prior experience in Instructional Design and Training Development is an asset;
  • MBA is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodology (specifically PMI standards). PMP accreditation is an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
