Business Analyst

  • Research and document user requirements through comprehensive user research, internal and external stakeholder interviews, and process mappings.
  • Validate functional and non functional requirements along with data / reporting needs ·
  • Apply lean skills to map out future business processes with maximum efficiencies aligned long-term product vision ·
  • Documents business needs, epics, user stories, process maps, CRUD matrix based on facilitated workshops and user research ·
  • Ensure quality delivery of outcomes following Agile / Digital playbook standards and methodologies, specifically
  • Discovery Phase of a digital product lifecycle

  • Strong familiarity with all phases of Ontario Digital Services Playbook
  •  8+ years of experience working in an Agile environment in a multi-disciplinary team
  • 5+ years of experience in user research, user interviews, user stories, and journey maps
  • 5+ years of experience with lean processes, process improvements and identifying Key Performance Indicators · Able to synthesize research and current state analysis and draft future vision / process
  • Experience with Jurisdiction Scan analysis based on user research and user stories
  • Proficiency in communication, able to understand business problems, documenting and presenting findings and prepare summary decks for mid-level management
  • Able to build strong and trusting relationships while liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders · Strong leadership skills to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of user experience and design, assessing user characteristics, needs, goals, and opportunities
  • Creative, innovative, and can think outside the box to visualize solutions that meet business needs. · Knowledge and experience with supporting Public Sector Digital First strategies; experience with working with Digital Service standards including formal submissions for assessments as per official digital standards established
  • Creative, analytical approach and strong understanding of interaction design principles, including ability and experience to deliver mock-ups using advanced tools
  • Able to resolve issues in a timely manner, provide options and recommendations.
  • Thrive on feedback and comfortable transforming ideas generated through user research and analysis to create elegant, effective designs for diverse audiences.
  • Understand business metrics and able to translate business goals and objectives into digital experiences.
Must have:
  • Proven experience engaging the business and IT stakeholders at various levels in a multidisciplinary Agile team
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in writing detailed user stories
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience creating business process maps/diagrams
  • Experience working in agile/iterative delivery teams for a digital product
  • Experience working in accordance with policies and procedures of the Ontario Public Service and working knowledge of the Acc
