We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Embedded Software Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing embedded software for satellite payload systems, with strong leadership skills to guide a multidisciplinary team and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of complex embedded software for space applications, including satellite payload systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Systems, Digital, and RF, to define software architectures and ensure seamless system integration.
- Provide technical leadership within an Agile development team, guiding software design decisions, resolving complex technical challenges, and promoting engineering best practices.
- Engage with customers to understand technical requirements, support project proposals, and contribute to the definition of software solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software development processes, engineering quality, and team productivity.
- Mentor and coach team members to strengthen technical capabilities and overall performance, including conducting one-on-one meetings and providing constructive feedback.
- Refine software requirements and translate system-level needs into robust software architectures and detailed technical specifications.
- Develop and implement embedded flight software, including low-level software and boot code for embedded processors.
- Oversee and contribute to flight software integration and testing within laboratory and flight-unit environments.
- Prepare and maintain formal software lifecycle documentation, including architectural designs, requirements, implementation details, and test documentation.
- Drive software process automation and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices to improve development efficiency and reliability.
- Promote disciplined software engineering practices, effective version control, and collaboration across the development team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong expertise in C and C++14 programming.
- Extensive experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Demonstrated experience with networking and communication protocols.
- Experience developing boot code for embedded CPUs.
- Experience working with complex systems-on-chip (SoCs).
- Proven technical leadership experience in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Strong proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent communication skills in English or French, with strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, provide constructive feedback, and lead technical and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a disciplined, resourceful, and results-oriented approach.
