Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler I is responsible for supporting daily and weekly production schedules to ensure timely manufacturing of products while balancing capacity, material availability, and customer demand. This role works closely with Production, Materials, Procurement, and Customer Service to maintain schedule accuracy, adjust for changes, and support on-time delivery goals.


Location: Mississauga,Ontario
Job Type: 6 Months(Extendable)
Working Arrangement: Day shift


Responsibilities
 
  • Develop and manage production schedules aligned with demand forecasts and resource availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Track production progress and address potential bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts.
  • Use data analytics to support decision-making related to inventory control, MRP, and capacity planning.

Qualifications
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    a. Basic production planning and scheduling knowledge
    b. Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, data tracking)
    c. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
    d. Understanding of lead times, BOMs, and capacity constraints
  • Soft Skills
    a. Strong organizational and time management skills
    b. Clear communication with production and supply chain teams
    c. Problem-solving and adaptability
    d. Attention to detail
  • An advanced Excel Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, conditional formatting, and data validation. Experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and macros/VBA is a strong asset.
  • Understanding of inventory control, demand planning, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and procurement processes.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
