Senior Project Engineer (Aerospace Controls Systems)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the Controls Systems engineering team on complex aerospace programs. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in aerospace engineering, and proven leadership in guiding multidisciplinary teams through development programs in compliance with DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP4754 standards. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing project execution from planning to delivery, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality objectives, while proactively managing risks and driving corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Controls System engineering team, providing technical and project leadership across multi-disciplinary members.

  • Develop and manage Program Estimate at Completion (EAC) and resource plans.

  • Maintain accurate forecasts in the MAT tool in coordination with PP&C and PMO.

  • Build and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and deploy Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Prioritize and assign engineering tasks, ensuring timely project completion within budget and schedule constraints.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor project metrics to ensure accurate status reporting and proactive corrective actions.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

  • Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, and program management to ensure program success.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and remote teams.

  • Support project scope changes, manage impacts, and flow down updates to teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Software, Systems Design, or related engineering discipline.
  • 6 to 8 years of aerospace engineering experience, with 3 to 5+ years of project engineering leadership in development programs.
  • Experience in DO-178B/C, DO-254, ARP4754 environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance (must already be eligible).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad technical knowledge of program management, aircraft systems, and certification processes.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
