Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science
Minimum 10 years of relevant design and test experience, with a specialty in opto-mechanical hardware
Design development in a R&D environment
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communication technical information across different levels of the organization and externally
Experience with mechanical design, industrial design, lens design, clean room work
Developing hardware for the space, vacuum and or similar harsh environments.
Background in the development of small compact, highly capable optical components.
Developing High-Volume optical production.
3D modeling using CAD tools such as CREO, Solidworks or NX.
Passion to develop solutions and trouble shoot problems.
Lens design using tools such as Code V or Zemax

Responsibilities:
Participate as a key team member in the development of unique mechanical concepts for optics, optical mount, flexures and structures with critical constraints that meet the demanding requirements of space applications.
Lead the development, build and test of hardware that is driven towards lower cost and higher volumes.
Develop strategies and methods to be able to efficiently and quickly build and test systems and components that require critically precise alignment.
Defining the assembly, integration, and test of complex optical systems and leading the execution of those activities.
