Hardware Test Development Specialist

Aversan Inc. is a multi-service engineering firm specializing in design, build, testing, certification, and support services for embedded flight and rail systems & software, health technology, and advanced IT.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a superior level of debugging for both test hardware and test software utilizing oscilloscopes and/or other diagnostic tools;
  • Performs analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods, and test cases;
  • Participates in planning, including participation in the preparation of test plans;
  • Performs integration and test activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project commissioning risks;
  • Prepares test reports which record the pass, fail status of planned tests and identify;
  • problems detected during the tests;
  • Investigates test anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departments;
  • Prepares problem reports in the defect tracking system describing test failures and defects;
  • Assists in the development of schedules and budgets and associated progress reporting;
  • Conduct requirement analysis, compliance mapping, and integration risk analysis;
  • Create accurate and concise test procedures;
  • Conduct test execution within the laboratory and field environment;
  • Consistently recognize and report anomalous system behavior and document the behavior into the problem tracking system;
  • Participate in resolving integration issue, problem identification, analysis and rectification of anomalies;
  • Perform the independent review of test results;
  • Communicate test observation and results in both oral and written media to engineering staff, superiors and customers.
 
Basic Qualifications
 
  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science;
  • A minimum of 7+ years in Embedded Systems Test Development;
  • Proficient with NI Data Acquisition and Control Hardware;
  • Proficient in C and C++;
  • Must have excellent Scripting skills (VB, Python);
  • Proficient with Test System Integration;
  • Professional Engineering Designation is an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written an communication skills.
