Job Description: Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer will be pivotal in leading investigations into failures of OEM, BTP, and R&O products. This role demands a deep understanding of electronic assemblies and a keen ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analyses at the component level for electronic assemblies.
- Read and interpret complex analog and digital electronic circuit schematic diagrams.
- Research product specifications and component maintenance manuals to understand product functionality deeply.
- Identify potential design issues and propose corrective actions.
- Document Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5Y, etc., and generate detailed reports.
- Coordinate tasks with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, QA, Industrialization, and customers.
- Schedule resources such as test benches and environmental chambers in collaboration with the Manufacturing Test Supervisor.
- Prepare Rework Travellers and complete Non-Conformance Reports as necessary.
- Analyze and report on failure trends in Manufacturing and R&O.
- Participate in daily QRQC meetings, providing status updates and task completion timelines.
- Ensure all work complies with internal and external requirements and standards.
- Provide support and mentorship to Manufacturing Test Technicians in troubleshooting and failure analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, or an Electronics Technologist with extensive field experience.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing and Engineering principles.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization.
